Clear The Shelters is an annual, nationwide pet adoption and shelter donation campaign that is spearheaded by NBCUniversal Local, a division of NBCUniversal. Each year, NBCUniversal Local’s NBC- and Telemundo-owned stations, plus affiliated stations, partner with animal shelters and rescues in their communities to host Clear The Shelters events.
This year, Jake's Pet Supply is lending our support to the Palm Beach Animal Care & Control Unit, as it strives to clear the Palm Beach Shelter during the month of August. We've created Welcome Home Gift Bags, valued at more than $50 each, for every dog or cat adopted from the shelter during this month! We'll be featuring adoptable pets' bios and pictures in the store and on our social media pages. Check out the full availability here.
There are all different ways to make a difference in a shelter pet's life, even if you can't make a commitment! Watch this space over the month. We'll be explaining the different options for taking a shelter pet into your heart and home: Foster, Foster-to-Adopt, and Adoption. At the very least, you can volunteer to walk, groom, or play with pets living at the shelter.
Finally, you can donate. By contributing or purchasing toys and supplies that aren't in the shelter's budget, you help the staff to keep the pets engaged; that helps them settle into homes easier when they finally leave the shelter.
